Data released Tuesday from CoreLogic shows home values in Arizona declined in 2010 at twice the national rate, and metro Phoenix had the biggest loss among the top 10 metro areas in the U.S.
The company’s latest report shows Arizona home values - including distressed sales - fell nearly 11 percent in 2010. That compares to the national average of 5.46 percent.
The Phoenix metro area saw declines of 9.74 percent. That was the largest decline among the 10 largest metro areas in the nation.
Only five states showed price appreciation in 2010, according to CoreLogic. They were North Dakota (up 5.5 percent), Hawaii (up 3.8 percent), West Virginia (up 3.7 percent), New York (up 1.7 percent) and Vermont (up 0.7 percent).
The only states with larger home value declines than Arizona were Idaho (down 15 percent) and Alabama (down 13 percent)
