Jon Stewart: Obama ‘showed us the spreadsheet’ for Libya

Jon Stewart went to town analyzing President Barack Obama’s Monday night speech explaining our military action in Libya in his “America At Not-War” segment. Obama was criticized for being pragmatic, which Stewart defended as “a little more long division” than poetry. Stewart compiled a sort of greatest hits reel of poetically-spoken presidential speeches, and, of course, mocked it summarily, including this zinger about President George H.W. Bush’s 1989 remark that freedom could “soar like a beautiful kite.”

“A beautiful kite? What the who? Oh, I’m sorry, President Bush, I forgot to tell you: A nine-year-old girl called and said, ‘Man up!’,” Stewart said.
