Casey Anthony found not guilty of murder

A Florida jury on Tuesday found Casey Anthony not guilty of murder in the June 16, 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

The defense had argued that Caylee died in an accidental drowning.

Jurors deliberated nearly 11 hours over two days.

The jury also found 25-year-old Casey not guilty of aggravated child abuse or aggravated manslaughter of a child.

She was found guilty of four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.

Thank the Gods. Now all we have to anticipate is her book deal, reality TV show, endless appearances on talk shows, the subsequent devolution into hard core pr0n and the inevitable line of blow-up dolls.

Well we actually managed to not post a story on this until after the not guilty verdict --- of which I am proud we ignore this.

I must admit however, I was stunned to read she was found not guilty this morning. Of course she was found guilty of the most egregious of crimes---lying to agents of the government. I really thought the evidence against her was damning. I guess the jury saw it different.
