Arrested for Letting Your 10 year old Ride a Bike to School
• .Could you be arrested for allowing your 5'th grade child to ride her
bike one mile to school? That certainly seems crazy as we try to
encourage active life styles for our kids. That certainly seems crazy
as we try to promote safe routes to school programs. That certainly
seems crazy as we talk of an obesity epidemic amongst our children. But
that is what police in Elizabethton Tennessee are threatening.

Now, now. Relax!
As we all know, the police know about almost everything that happens in the areas of their jurisdiction. And, police know about their brothers in blue.
If a cop warns you to keep your kids away from certain areas, there's a good chance he's a good cop protecting you from a bad cop who is waiting to pounce on your kids.
Too, bad that there is an unwritten agreement among all cops that the whistle-blower in their group, whomever he or she might be, would be ostracized to the point of possible execution by all the cops, both the good and the bad.
